Position Calculator
Three
things are needed to calculate a new position; 1) present milage
from the Route Directory, 2) expected running time and 3) expected
speed.
Determine
the GOING FROM position in the Route Directory. Highlight that mileage,
right click and COPY. In the New Position Calculator, highlight
the number in the GOING FROM box, right click and PASTE (if there
is no number in there, just right click in the box and PASTE).
Enter
the Expected Running Time (in hours - 4.25 would be 4 hours and
15 minutes).
Enter
the Expected Speed.
Click the POSITION button and the new position will be calculated.
Scroll down (or up if going southbound) the Route Directory to the
mileage that was calculated and find the anchorage or position nearest
to that mileage. Once the best anchorage or position is determined,
go back to the Running Time Calculator to find a more exact running
time.
